The South Carolina Gamecocks and the Virginia Cavaliers will meet at the TD Ameritrade Park Omaha on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 7:00 PM ET. On Tuesday night the South Carolina Gamecocks will resume their defense of their 2010 National Championship. Ray Tanner's squad will be squaring off against the Virginia Cavaliers for the right to stay in the winner's bracket. The Gamecocks lead the all-time series with the Cavaliers 34 - 28. The teams last met in 2006 in Charlottesville when USC helped knock the hosting Cavaliers out of the NCAA tournament.

UVA has only played in the NCAA tournament 11 times, but this year marks the 8th such time in as many years. The Cavaliers made their first trip to the College World Series in 2009, where they beat Cal St. Fullerton but lost to LSU and Arkansas.
